My brother first took me to Highbury regularly in season 1957-58 aged 8 and I’m now 70, so I thought this would be a good time to share some of my memories, photos and stories of a lifetime supporting “The Arsenal “.

I will be sharing photos etc from my scrapbooks of the early Arsenal years up to 1957 and then my personal memories from then onwards including;
How the North Bank got its name.
Where the first North Bank banner came from.
The Original North Bank boys.
All the triumphs and tragedies from then onwards.

I won’t be going into match details as they’re available elsewhere in blogs, books etc.

As the 50th Anniversary of the 1st leg defeat before ultimate victory against Anderlecht in the Inter Cities Fairs Cup is approaching I’ve decided to begin with that, especially as it was the first trophy my generation had seen Arsenal win.

Amazingly, Charlie George was with us at the Bristol Rovers FA cup game in 1967 and 3 years later we were watching him win this trophy.
